Summer Do Dilemma

In Love with my Locks writes:

I get compliments on my hair all the time. Its summer now, and I’d really like to buzz it off and enjoy the warm weather with day hikes, trips to the beach, bike rides and swims without the muss and fuss of styling my gorgeous hair. But I’d hate to deprive the masses of enjoying such unique and utter beauty. What should I do?

My response:

Keep the do all year round and continue to receive glory and praise or risk a change and find out what people truly think of you. What a predicament...

You should definitely NOT mess with a good thing!

Is it possible that you receive so many compliments on your hair style because it is your one and only true beauty, your one saving grace, your singular feature that brings anything of value to your ethos? I could be wrong.

But I could be right! What if you give in to the wiles of summer and change your look. What will your loved ones truly see when they are no longer starstruck by your mane? The luster of what they believed to be your essence will dissipate before their very eyes and you will find yourself friendless, brainless, helpless and hopeless.

I believe the best thing to do in your situation is to stick with the one thing you've got going for you and start investing early in hair-loss remedies--just to stay on the safe side.
